My Latest Works Ruxton the First Modern Murder is Nominated for the Most Prestigious Literary Award

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce my true crime book Ruxton the First Modern Murder is in the running for the most prestigious literary award in the country at the National Book Awards, run by the Saltire Society, which has been recognising Scotland’s best books since 1937.

I've been shortlisted for the category Non-Fiction Book of Year. I’m delighted to receive this nomination. When I first discovered this story about Ruxton I knew it was important and I was determined to tell it. My only concern was in my ability to do it full justice. The shortlisting for such a prestigious award gives me some comfort, that I achieved this.

Saltire Society director Sarah Mason said: "The last two years have been difficult for everyone, but the strength and resilience we’ve seen from our publishers, authors and designers is inspiring.”

The Scotsman also published an article on the National Books Awards today, giving the full low-down. Click here to read it.

The overall winner will be announced on 27th November 2021.
