About the event
Join us at Fountainbridge Library on 23rd March at 6pm for an evening with writer and former Senior Police Officer, Tom Wood, as he explores the bombing of Edinburgh and Leith between 1939 and 1942. Fascinating wartime facts covered in his latest book about this topic, which launched last year.
When the Edinburgh Police Historical Society uncovered a rare 1944 document detailing German bombing raids on the city, it revealed a story often overlooked. Though not ‘Blitzed’ like London, Edinburgh was repeatedly attacked from October 1939 to 1942, and Tom Wood will share this history using original crime scene photographs from the City Police Archives.
Tom is a member of the Edinburgh Lothian & Borders Police Historical Society, his books include The Worlds End Murders and Ruxton: The First Modern Murder.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn about Edinburgh’s wartime resilience and there will be an opportunity to purchase…
